Tracking at Bomb Shelter Studio 06/18/2011
Hello everyone! I just finished up an amazing tracking session at "The Bomb Shelter". This is a world-class recording studio located in Downtown Los Angeles and its owned by Eric Kretz, the drummer for Stone Temple Pilots. The studio features 16ft. Ceilings with 100 yr. old brick walls, an amazing drum room with over 60' of mic distance, and it can house an orchestra! This was also home to the Henry Rollins Show. Tracking was done through a 48-input SSL G+ and some Neve stuff, along with incredible mics and outboard gear. Check out the photos below of the tracking room, control room, lounge area, and platinum records hanging in various places. This session was recording tracks for Universal Music Group with writer/producer Chad Gendason. His work can be heard all over TV, film, video games, and albums. Chad's music is top-notch and on par with the best producers in the music business. In addition we did 1 track for Chad's own project, 2 tracks for artist/engineer Andy Hayes, and 1 track for singer Nadine Casanova. I brought along my Zoom Q3HD camera and put it in the room for a minute. You can hear how insanely great this room is by clicking the video. I can't wait to hear these tracks when they are done! Much thanks to Chad, Andy, and Mike at the studio for such a nice day. Cheers! Comments Comments are closed. |
